The many activities of the Outreach Office provide essential communication and education for Pennsylvania’s preparedness professionals, as evidenced by utilization of the E-newsletter, web site, on-line courses, and other products.
Speakers Bureau
The Speakers Bureau provides essential trainings throughout the State on preparedness related topics including pandemic influenza, local health department surge capacity, resilience in public health, and many more topics (see chart below).
Integrated Web site and E-newsletter
The Center’s web site and electronic communications allow for integrated communication activities. E-newsletter alerts are linked to the web site, trainings and conferences are highlighted, and resources that are of maximum value to the preparedness community are provided. Subscriptions to the E-newsletter increased by 53% in 2007. View E-newsletter
Community College Toolkit
The Center partnered with Lehigh Carbon Community College to develop a Community College Toolkit. With a goal to increase partnerships between educational and training institutions involved in public health, the Toolkit helps Centers for Public Health Preparedness, local community colleges, and other community resources develop new and improved partnerships.
