Through lecture, case analysis, and class discussion students will:
- Understand the laws supporting the control and prevention of diseases
- injuries, and disabilities
- Discuss public health emergency law
- Analyze the ethical issues impacting public health practice
- Begin to develop the legal competencies needed for professional public health practice

Hepatitis A: Anatomy of an Outbreak
This online module is for Physicians, Nurses, Certified Health Education Specialists, and Certified Health Education Specialists, and Certified Food Safety Inspectors who may potentially come in contact with food-borne illnesses.
Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to:
- Describe the process of conducting a disease outbreak investigation
- Identify several methods of data collection used in an outbreak
- Recognize which agencies and departments may be involved in a large scale outbreak
- Recognize the process of trace back when a food item is determined as a source
